Lingshan Natural Scenic Area
The Lingshan Natural Scenic Area is about 122 kilometers away from the capital city. Its peak has an altitude of about 2302 meters, making it the highest peak in Beijing.
Due to its high altitude, Lingshan combines the characteristics of fault mountains and folded mountains, integrating them into one, thus forming a unique natural scenic area in the Beijing region. Here, the peaks are peculiarly steep and magnificent, with various shapes. Flowers spread all over the mountains, stretching as far as the eye can see, just like a gorgeous and colorful picture scroll slowly unfolding in the mountains, presenting a breathtakingly beautiful scene.
The types of vegetation in Lingshan are quite rich. Here, there are both vegetation belonging to the warm temperate zone and vegetation that is related to the cold regions of Siberia. All kinds of plants coexist harmoniously here. Among them, the alpine meadow is especially famous. That large expanse of green and soft meadow like a carpet is a major highlight of the natural landscape in Lingshan, attracting numerous tourists to come to admire and visit.
Meanwhile, Lingshan is also the only natural breeding farm in Beijing for Xinjiang fine-wool sheep, Ili horses, and Qinghai-Tibet yaks. These animals from afar have found a suitable living environment here and are reproducing. Moreover, it is also a paradise for wild animals. They live freely in this vast natural world, making the whole scenic area full of vitality and life.
